THE CORRECT CONCEPTION OF HUMAN BEING

CONCEPTION (according to oxford dictionary) is:

 - the action of conceiving a child or of one being conceived
-  the forming or devising of a plan or idea
- the way in which something is perceived or regarded
- an abstract idea; a concept
- a plan or intention
- ability to imagine; understanding
 
In his letter to the President of Poland Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki expressed his gratitude  for decision to veto new legislation on Supreme Court. He said: “Authentic democracy is possible only in the legal state and based on the correct conception of the human being”.
 
This paragraph made me stop and think. I decided to look a little deeper into the matter. Word conception has several meanings. That’s the word which caught my eye. Let’s try to break it down:

1. The action of conceiving a child or of one being conceived
   

That require a physical act – sex to be more precise. It is a natural human attribute. Woman cannot have a children without sex except Virgin Mary (if someone believes in such a story as true) or without process called “in vitro”.

      2.   The forming or devising of a plan or idea

Once you have been impregnated with the idea you going to step number two. Shaping and creating plan which will lay out your main principles in achieving the goal.

      3.   The way in which something is perceived or regarded

As your plan is getting into something more solid you cannot escape not it be noticed. As a human being you will be judged.

      4.   An abstract idea; a concept

Ideas which comes to your mind can have different names of the source. Some people call it God, some people call it Imagination. Concept on the other side is integration of ideas. These ideas must have common ground.

     5.   A plan or intention

Intentions might be good or bad.

    6.   Ability to imagine; understanding

Here we have metaphysical aspect. You have to have ability to imagine and then understand in your own terms what you are dealing with.


I understand that bishop talks about conception envisioned by Catholic Church. After all they have two thousand years of experience in forming human mind envisioned by God. That is a lot of time.

I was raised as a Christian and from my own experience I can say that all has been sold to me in a big package deal. I didn’t have to worry about how it all came together, what are the elements of it and do I really have to conform to this. I was never told or taught to look for alternatives. It is all established, proven, tested, worked out and ready to absorb. No questions asked. After all you have trust in the authority which is telling you what is the right or wrong. If I stepped out of the line I was quickly reminded not to offend God.
 
So what is that conception ? What are the elements of it ? What he could have in his mind ?
 
One of the elements in Christianity is to welcome everyone with love and open hands. Even your enemy. Put down your guards and don’t worry. Miracle will happen and you are going to be rewarded in afterlife. Not here, not now. In life over the other side. What is there ? No one really knows. This is approach of little children. After all we are being called children by the Church. You might be in the body of the grown up man but have mind of little children. Great. That is the way forward. Now we can conquer the world. 
 
Another element well known is fear of God. Do not question Him as He is Almighty. Do not use your own reason. Just have blind faith. It’s like with Allah and killings done in His name. That is for good cause because they unbelievers. This is the only way. It might be not accepted by people who want to experience God in their own way quietly without interception from outside and artificial structure but who cares. Don’t think that only Islam have done this. Christianity has done the same thing. It is called Inquisition. It is on the cards of history which is not being taught in the schools. Let’s forget these few episodes of killing people which does not fit in general picture. That is only loss of life of women, children and destruction of their spirit. No big deal.
 
Church teachings demands unquestioning obedience.  You are just little man who should obey. Remember that there is hierarchy in all of this and you are at the bottom. If you want to go to heaven you have to do as Church says.
 
Don’t get me wrong. There are good elements in Christian teaching but I’m trying to look at bigger picture and analyse it. I’m not taking everything on blind faith. Oh no. Not anymore. I opened my eyes. 

I have described shortly only three elements. I don’t agree with the conception of human being by catholic Church for simple reason. It makes me less human. The conception and plan is in my opinion sinister.
